Before a 5G new radio (NR) base station or user equipment (UE) can be released onto the market, it must pass all necessary tests. Unless the products are 3GPP-compliant, they cannot be deployed on networks. In Release 15, 5G NR is included as well as some new features for long-term evolution (LTE).
But still mostly missing from the 5G equation are base stations powerful enough to shape and direct an individual RF connection to every subscriber within range, while performing feats of electromagnetic geometry to maintain that connection. A base station in the wireless world is a device that connects other wireless devices to a central hub.
Abstract—In this paper, we address and analyze the receiver reference sensitivity requirements for the 5G New Radio (NR) wireless communications systems, which relate to the SNR re-quirements at the base station to reach 95 % of the maximum throughput defined for fixed reference channels.
Many 5G base stations are being deployed at existing LTE sites. Each tower has a loading factor that defines the maximum weight of the radios and antennas that can be mounted. Due to legacy hardware on the tower, the radio may be required to be installed at ground level and only the antenna is tower mounted.
But still, a significant number of users have so many complaints relating to their 5G network connectivity which includes slow connection, drop connection, and other related issues. Dealing with such issues while using a 5G network may keep stressing you, especially when many devices and applications have become a must-have.
It is clear that the arrival of beamforming in 5G has made traditional methods of measuring the total radiated power of a base station ineffective to optimize network coverage.
