Pairing Energy Management System (EMS) with PV storage system provides a clean and efficient way to utilize local renewable resources. By dispatching shiftable loads and storage resources, EMS could effectively reshape the electricity net demand profiles and match customer demand and PV generation.
One case is that PV power generation time often overlaps with EV travel time on holidays, in which the behavior of the EV in the HDPV-V2H mode is similar to that in the V2H peak shaving and valley filling mode. The other is that the idle EV at home can be used as a distributed energy storage system on workdays.
Transferring valley electricity by V2H can not only improve the utilization rate of valley electricity, but also obtain certain economic benefits because the peak price is twice the valley price for residential electricity in Shanghai. The energy arbitrage of V2H decreases with the increase of the EV travel distance.
The simulation results reveal the feasibility of the proposed approach to effectively flatten the HRB electricity demand and net demand profiles. With the help of EMS, the peak-to-valley ratio of demand profiles and net demand profile are reduced significantly.
The electricity demands in HRBs are intensive and variable and the peak effects in HRBs are more obvious than in low-rise residential buildings . The renewable generation technique, namely PV technique, could effectively reduce electricity demand and alleviate peak effect.
In any case, the house equipped with the HDPV-V2H system no longer needs the peak grid electricity, indicating that the HDPV-V2H mode well contributes to saving electricity expense, energy conservation and emission reduction. The positive return of PV still can't do without the support from government's subsidy in Shanghai in the coming time.
