Technological improvements in both current- and next-generation stations allow the service provider to charge higher prices. This price increase is justified not only by the enhanced value of the battery swapping service but also by the expanded infrastructure across both generations. The present research can be extended in the following ways.
This study shows that battery electricity storage systems offer enormous deployment and cost-reduction potential. By 2030, total installed costs could fall between 50% and 60% (and battery cell costs by even more), driven by optimisation of manufacturing facilities, combined with better combinations and reduced use of materials.
