In the modern world, when there is a power outage or a power failure, telecommunication systems, computer systems, and many other critical equipment, such as medical equipment, require uninterrupted power to support their operation. Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems are used for this purpose.
Uninterruptible Power Supply System When utility mains are not available, electricity can be supplied from a source such as a standard connected equipment UPS, which provides power supply. UPS is mostly used for critical loads and is kept between commercial utility mains.
The aim is to develop power supply systems using static uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) based on fully controlled current inverters. Analysis of the existing power supply systems showed the imperfection of such schemes and does not provide complete independence of the facilities from external power supply.
To get uninterrupted supply nowadays power backups such as inverters and UPS are used commonly. If it is a traditional UPS it is difficult to know remaining power and time till it can supply energy in terms of power. In order to overcome this issue, a design is proposed in the following paper.
Normally, a static UPS system does not have detrimental effects on the power supply system. However, when the static UPS system capacity is close to 20 percent of the supply system capacity, the harmonic effects should be analyzed.
